• Why do your soaps contain Sodium Hydroxide (lye)?

Putting it simply.. you can't make soap without it.
Sodium hydroxide, also known as lye, is a crucial ingredient when making tradional bar soap through a process called saponification. It reacts with the fats and oils used in the recipe, and when measured out at the exact right amount, there is no trace of it left when the bar has saponified. It also means that fresh ingredients such as different fruits, herbs, vegetables can be used without going moldy and rancid as it preserves them during the process.

• Do you do melt and pour soaps?

No! All the soaps are handmade from the very beginning, calculating recipes, using the sodium hydroxide and different oils and butters, infusing different ingredients depending on the recipe, and then waiting 4 to 6 weeks for the bar to cure.
